Angel Tree Ministry

The purpose of the Angel Tree Ministry is to equip our church to restore and strengthen relationships between incarcerated parents and their children and families. Every Christmas, the Angel Tree Ministry prepares our church to minister to children by delivering a gift, the Gospel message, and a personal message of love on behalf of their mom or dad behind bars. 

Benevolence Ministry

The purpose of the Benevolence Ministry is to draw people closer to Christ by helping to meet their basic financial needs in times of crisis or transition, according to biblical directives and fiscal constraints. The ministry is intended as a source of last resort, to be used when the family, or person requesting assistance has explored all other possibilities of help from family, friends, savings, or investments.  It is not designed to respond to emergencies, financial or otherwise, as the process can take a couple of weeks to complete.

Card Ministry

The purpose of the Card Ministry is to send cards to members celebrating special events, to provide encouragement, to cheer them up, and to let them know someone is praying for them. We believe that Christian cards gives us the opportunity to express God’s love in our heart towards one another. It tells the receiver that their church cares, and so does God. 

Children Church Ministry

The purpose of the Children's Church Ministry is to provide an opportunity for children to celebrate their love for the Lord. It is a worship experience focused totally on children and building their understanding of the Bible, and promoting a meaningful relationship with God. The goal of the ministry is that every child is introduced to Christ using various resources to demonstrate who He is, and His love for them.

Christian Education Ministry

The purpose of the Christian Education Ministry is to offer biblically based classes to develop disciples who are biblically sound and able to effectively share the word of God, and show His love. There are multiple bible based studies to encourage people to develop a lifestyle of Christian living, Christian service, and authentic worship. This comes from 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”.

Culinary Ministry

The purpose of the Culinary Ministry is to prepare food and refreshments as needed for funerals, leadership meetings, Sunday morning breakfast before worship service, and special church events. The ministry collaborates with other ministries in providing culinary support for ministry events when needed. They support the Pastor and First Lady when hosting private events and entertainment activities.

Deacon Ministry

The purpose of the Deacon Ministry is to assist the Pastor with serving holy communion during service, preparing, and baptizing candidates for baptism. They support and participate in Bible Study and other worship services. Deacons visit the sick and shut-in and attend funerals to help provide support to bereaved families. They serve as spiritual role models, and mentors particularly to the younger men. 

Deaconess Ministry

The purpose of the Deaconess Ministry is to assist the Pastor, and Deacons by preparing the holy communion for service and assists with preparing candidates for baptism. They support and participate in Bible Study and other worship services. The Deaconess Ministry also makes visits and phone calls to the sick and shut in and attend funerals to help provide support to bereaved families. They serve as spiritual role models, and mentors particularly to the younger women. 

Decorating Ministry

The purpose of the Decorating Ministry is to help create a warm, and inviting church atmosphere by offering their time, and talent to beautify the House of the Lord. The ministry focuses on the beautification of the sanctuary, fellowship hall and the overall church. They help to prepare for special church functions, and events as requested. They collaborate with other ministries to fulfill their event ideas. 

Event Planning Ministry

The purpose of the Event Planning Ministry is to plan, schedule and coordinate various activities designed to inform, educate, up-lift, expose, and address relevant needs of the congregation with a specific aim to involve and serve the larger community with the message of Christ. They collaborate with ministry leaders to understand the scope of programs and events, develop timelines for deliverables and tasks, and ensure planning is in line with approved budget.  

Financial Wellness Ministry

The purpose of the Financial Wellness Ministry is to help individuals and families become good stewards of the financial resources God blessed them with. They inform, and inspire individuals through simple reminders, practical strategies, seminars, and other initiatives. The ministry serves to encourage good stewardship over all resources provided by God and to support the principles of tithing. 

Food Pantry Ministry

The purpose of the Food Pantry Ministry is to lead the church efforts to provide equitable access to food and opportunity to people struggling with hunger and food insecurity. They partner with the Capital Area Food Bank of DC, and local farmers to supply the food that is distributed to the individuals and families who need it the most in our surrounding communities. The food is distributed once a month via a drive through process at the church. The ministry also provides food to those in need on an emergency basis. 

Greeters Ministry 

The purpose of the Greeters Ministry is to ensure our congregants, and guests are greeted when entering the church. They provide guidance to guests to ensure they know where to go when entering the church. The Greeters Ministry also collaborates with other ministries in the church to ensure they are aware of events or programs that will require their support and be able to respond to questions from congregants and guests.

Grief Share Ministry

The purpose of the Grief Share Ministry is to create a safe, welcoming environment where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. It is through 13 weekly group sessions that you will discover what to expect in the days ahead and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability—and gain solid support each step of the way.

Hospitality Ministry

The purpose of the  Hospitality Ministry is the show love to strangers (guests and friends) in our midst. Secondly, the ministry is to “pamper” people by paying attention to minor details such as: adding little touches to our meetings, fellowships, Bible study, or other occasions that express to those attending that they are valued. 

Information Technology (IT) Ministry

The purpose of the Information Technology (IT) Ministry is  to provide a platform for communication, and to help our ministry to use technology to our advantage. It also helps to make the church more accessible to people who are not physically present. The ministry helps to improve the quality of worship by making it easier for our church to share the good news of the gospel with a wider audience. It allows us via technology to reach out to our congregation and the world with the message of hope and love.

Intercessory Prayer Ministry 

The purpose of the Intercessory Prayer Ministry is to help ensure that there is continuous effectual, fervent prayer and intercession at the church. Intercessory pray, which is praying on behalf of other people, is a powerful expression of love and spiritual warfare. The Intercessory Prayer Ministry consistently prays for the Pastor and his family, our church leaders, the church body, the local community, the United States, and the entire world. They are  responsible for intercessory prayer before services. Members of this ministry must have a genuine concern for others and feel a burden to go to God on behalf of them. They are to be discreet and not given to gossip. 

Marriage Ministry

The purpose of the Marriage Ministry is to encourage and uplift married couples through fellowship, teaching, and relationship building with other couples. It engages all married couples of the church in healthy social activities, biblical teaching and loving supportive church family relationships. The Marriage Ministry enriches, encourages, and equips married couples to have spiritual and Godly lifestyles based on biblical principles and instructions. This ministry is also opened to married couples that are non-members of our church.

Media Ministry

The purpose of the Media Ministry is to provide a high quality audio and video throughout all services or activities requiring media participation. The ministry is maintained throughout by volunteers who remain attentive and can quickly respond and adjust according to the program, the speakers, the choir, etc. Their other duties include ensuring videos and audio recordings are produced to help expand the reach of the church’s ministry via social media, website, and other communication platforms.  

 Men Ministry

The purpose of the Men Ministry is to create and maintain an atmosphere of learning, fellowship, and strengthening one another to be the men God created them to be. Their goal is to enable men to exercise the dominion God gave them while exemplifying Christian character. The Men’s Ministry seeks to develop men in every area of their life, spiritually, professionally, personally, physically and mentally.

Ministerial Staff

The purpose of the Ministerial Staff is to assist the Senior Pastor with ministerial and support needs as they arise. They must be able to share the gospel of Christ with both believers and unbelievers. The ministers serves as Sunday morning worship leaders, ministering, and teaching the Word of God in support of our Christian discipleship training. They also serve as mentors and advisors to other ministry leaders and congregants. 

Music and Fine Arts Ministry 

The purpose of the Music and Fine Arts Ministry is to create an atmosphere for authentic worshipful experience during each worship service. They coordinate with each other and the Pastor to ensure unity in their presentation of the Spirit of the Lord via music, song, dance, or drama. The ministry assists in promoting the presentation of the gospel via music and the arts.

 New Members Ministry

The purpose of the New Members Ministry is to provide a comprehensive orientation program to introduce all new members to our church principles, practices, member responsibilities, and ministries of the church. They strive to ensure all new members are assimilated into the life and activities of the church. They also provide  detail information on each ministry and program, identify the "ways and means" to access important church information, and promote and encourage participation in Church Ministries.

Nurses Ministry

The purpose of the Nurses Ministry is to provide support to members of the congregation when medical assistance is required. They host educational seminars on health care and partners with various local organizations to maximize resources that will allow individuals to improve their health. The Nurse’s Ministry serve as the liaisons between patient / family and emergency medical responders during an emergency at the church.

Security Ministry

The purpose of the Security Ministry is to maintain a peaceful, safe environment that is conducive to teaching, learning, working, living, and sharing in the word of our Lord and Savior.  It assists in reducing crime against the church by providing a security program that acts as a deterrent for criminals.

Seniors Ministry 

The purpose of the Seniors Ministry is to minister to our seniors via bible study, fellowship, special outings and crafts. The ministry seeks to glorify God as we strive to reach the senior adults of the church, and those in the neighboring area to enhance their lives, encourage them to grow in the Lord, and enjoy life as a senior.

Sunday School Ministry

The purpose of the Sunday School Ministry is to make the fullness of God’s word a reality in every believer’s life.  Their mission is to build a biblical foundation in the lives of individuals that will transform families, friends, and the community for the Kingdom of God.  The Sunday school classes are held every Sunday at 9:30am. The lessons and materials are designed around topics and issues we may experience in life and how biblical principles can be applied to them to ensure our success as faithful Christians.

Transportation Ministry 

The purpose of the Transportation Ministry is to provide safe and reliable transportation for our members who do not have transportation within reason to attend church services, programs and activities. They also collaborate with other ministries to define and support their transportation requirements as needed. 

Trustee Ministry

The purpose of the Trustee Ministry is to act in the best interests of the church by managing the property, finances, and assets of the church. They are responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the facilities and fiscal management of the church.  The Trustee Ministry also has the responsibility to ensure that the church is in adherence with all legal standards and ethical norms, including compliance with various Federal, State and Local laws and regulations.  

Ushers Ministry 

The purpose of the Ushers Ministry is to greet congregants before and after worship services. They provide guidance and direction to members and guests for seating purposes. They provide fans and other forms of assistance as required. The Ushers collaborate with security during emergencies to ensure the safety of the congregation. They make sure the sanctuary is clean before and after each service. They also coordinate with other ministries to service their events.

Vacation Bible School Ministry

The purpose of the Vacation Bible School Ministry is to provide an environment for young people and adults to come and experience the presence of God through Christian instruction via games, crafts, teaching, drama, and other creative means. This is normally hosted after the end of the public-school season and last about 3 days.

Women Ministry

The purpose of the Women Ministry is to glorify God by encouraging, equipping, and empowering women through the Word of God. They provide support programs that address health wellness, family life, careers and others needs of women. It provides opportunities to assemble and learn God’s word, and from each other’s life experiences as they seek to fulfill God’s purpose for their lives.

Youth Ministry

The purpose of the Youth Ministry is to serve as a bridging ministry of education, connection, formation, and transformation. The Youth Ministry strives to walk with young people on their journeys from childhood to adulthood. It helps to promote and encourage our youths to use their gifts and talents for the Kingdom of God. They create a safe environment where youths are able to ask questions about spirituality, share personal experiences and challenges, along with other topics of interest, and receive biblical guidance and support.
